Anne Ellison with Stephen Ziguras

Moods of Flowers

29/07/2016 -

Exhibition of over 60 original artworks by Anne Ellison. Her interest in flowers began several years ago with botanical art using watercolours and acrylics.

Using the richness of oils and colour Anne continues her interest in floral art to explore mood. Silent they may be but flowers convey mood, sometimes joyous and celebratory and at other times contemplative, secretive and even mysterious. Anne’s aim is to invite the viewer to pause for a moment and contemplate the beauty of form and the mystery of mood in the floral form.

Stephen Ziguras has created sculptured wooden bowls in collaboration with Anne, the organic forms of her flowers contrasting with the formal geometry of the bowls. He was a finalist in the 2015 Victorian Craft Awards and started his business while living in Copenhagen. A selection of his furniture will also be on exhibit. In terms of design principles, Stephen’s works are strongly influenced by simplicity and clean lines.
