Passionism

17/11/2018 -

31/01/2019

Supremely well versed in the art of portraiture and still life, Deny Christian works in the classical tradition and creates both beautiful and incredibly naturalistic artworks.

She believes in the artistic movement known as Passionism following the traditions of European painting established during the Italian Renaissance. Christian has had an extraordinary award winning artistic career spanning more than four decades including the Packer’s Prize of the Archibald Prize for her portrait of Gary McDonald. Other notable portraits are of Robyn Williams, Richard Morecroft and Derek Llewellyn Jones and Lara Giddings, first female Premier of Tasmania. Gallery on Sturt is very privileged to host Deny Christian’s first Victorian solo exhibition of recent works.
